LEGISLATION 

Prevention Of Damage by Pests Act 

Summary :

If a business is involved in The manufacture, storage, transport, or sale of food and pest infestation is present, the owner must take steps to control the infestation or notify the Local Authority. 

PENALTIES 

Notice to improve the business. 

Recovery of expenses incurred by the local authority from the business owners. 

 

FOOD SAFETY ACT 

Summary : 

Organisations and businesses that manufacture, process, store, distribute, prepare, package or sell food must ensure that human food is safe to eat. 


It is an offence to supply, sell, advertise, or be in possession of food that is unfit for human consumption. 

Food and food products must be prevented from being damaged or contaminated by pests. Food premises must be kept in good condition, clean and free from rubbish which may attract pest activity. 



PENALTIES / IMPROVEMENT NOTICES


Prohibtion Orders to close Premises (Shut Down) 

Seizure of unfit food or food production equipment. 

Disqualification from catering for up to two years. 

Fines up to £5,000 and / or up to six months imprisonment of each offence, or major offences, fines up to £20,000 

 

( In Crown Courts Unlimited fines and up to two years Imprisonment)

An alarm is immediately sent to the Diverson Pest service technician by email when a sensor detects motion. The alarm gives you information about the time and place where rodent activity has been detected or a snap trap has been released. Diverson aim to be in attendance within 4 hours when any smart device has detected rodent activity within your facility.
